Acer Class (Year 3/4)
Welcome to Acer Class
We have an exciting year ahead of us exploring the themes planned. There will be many opportunities for the children to use a number of resources to investigate the themes, each with a different curriculum focus.
We will continue to work hard on developing our collaboration, reasoning and problem-solving skills.
We will complete the homework set, practise our multiplication tables and find time to read for pleasure every day.
Our themes for 2020-2021 are:
Out of this World – learning about Space.
Tomb raiders – learning about the Egyptians.
Wild Waters – learning about Rivers and Oceans.
This term, children need to have their PE kit on a Monday. Spellings will be set on Friday for a test the following Friday.
What can you do to support your child?
All children should read for at least 20 minutes every day – this will be recorded in their planners by you or your child.
Times tables also need to be revised to ensure that maths recall is finger-tip quick. Children can continue to progress through their Total Recall badges to ensure that these skills continue to be embedded. :
Here are some useful websites to support your child with their home learning:

There are also many apps and strategies that we use to enhance the learning experience of the children, below is a list of some of the apps we use regularly in class.
Morfo: bringing to life characters both fictional and historical
Puppet Pals: Creating scenes and scenarios to support children’s understanding of historical events
iMovies: Creating and editing movies and clips to record and document their learning
Scratch: Using coding to explore algorithms
